Director Luv Ranjan’s Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety has turned out to be huge box office winner in its opening weekend itself. The buddy comedy raked in Rs 26.57 crore. With these collections, the film has become the third highest opening weekend grosser of 2018 after Padmaavat (Rs 114 crore) and Pad Man (Rs 40.05 crore). The film showed substantial growth over its weekend to achieve this feat at the ticket window. Featuring Kartik Aryan, Nushrat Bharucha and Sunny Singh in lead roles, the film is co-produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar and Ankur Garg.
Since the film has been appreciated by the audience, especially by the youth, we are expecting the film to hold well in the weekdays. Apart from the lead cast, the film also stars Alok Nath, Virendra Saxena and Ishita Raj Sharma in pivotal roles. As the film is made on the controlled budget, it will soon turn out to be a profitable affair for its makers. Despite receiving mixed reviews from the critics, the film got immense love from the audience.
Our critic Rajat Tripathi gave the film two stars and said, “It has plenty of laughs in the first half but suffers from the curse of the second half. If you swear by Luv Ranjan’s brand of comedy – Pyaar Ka Punchnama series – you will have a good time watching Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety.” Anyway, do you think Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety will cross the Rs 50 crore mark at the box office?
