We all have been watching Bollywood movies every now and then. Do you have any knowledge about cinema of neighbouring countries? Today, we are talking about Pakistani cinema and what type of movies they usually make. Over the years, cinema of Pakistan has been flourishing and made some of the incredible movies with powerful performances from the actors. Fawad Khan, Mahira Khan and other stars of Pakistan are playing roles and getting offers from the Bollywood. However, not many of us know their performances in Pakistani cinema. We bring you the list of six Pakistani films that every Indian movie bluff should watch.

1. Jawani Phir Nahi Ani
Jawani Phir Nahi Ani is Pakistan’s highest-grossing movie till date and made a business of Rs 46 crores at the Lollywood box-office. Directed by Nadeem Beyg, the comedy film tells the story about three childhood friends on a trip in Bangkok and a single man who is a divorce lawyer to help them escape their wives. However, when the wives came to know about the plan, they crash their husbands’ party in Bangkok. Watch this Lollywood movie to know more about Pakistani cinema.
2. Khuda Kay Liye
Shoiab Mansoor’s Khuda Kay Liye is such a bold film and the first Pakistani film to be released in India after 43 years. The film stars prominent actors Shaan, Fawad Khan Iman Ali as lead roles. Indian actor Naseer-ud-din shah has also played short role in the film. The film has several themes post 9/11 attack on American soil and then how Muslims had to face discrimination in abroad. The films also deals with various subjects like whether Islam forbids Music or whether a Muslim women have the choice to live life on its own.
3. Bol
2011 social-drama film is considered as one of the best movies from Lollywood. Directed by Shoaib Mansoor, the film story deals with the discrimination faced by the transgender from society, women empowerment and family planning. Pakistan’s top stars of today marked the debut in Pakistani cinema with names Atif Aslam, Mahira Khan and Humaima Malick.
4. Waar
Waar is the action thriller movie and took home Rs 34 crore at the box-office worldwide collections. Directed by Bilal Lashari, the film is based on the theme war on terror featuring Shaan Shahid, Meesha Shafi, Ali Azmat, Shamoon Abbassi as lead roles. Watch this action-packed and is almost same like Bollywood type of action-thriller movies.
5. Bin Roye
Bin Roye is a romantic drama film based on the novel of the same. The film earned a huge business of Rs 40 crore and went on to become the third highest grossing Pakistani film of all time. Directed by Shahzad Kashmiri, the film stars Mahira Khan, Humayun Saeed and Armeena Rana Khan as lead roles. The film was later adapted into a television series and was aired on Hum TV.
6. Main Hoon Shahid Afridi
Main Hoon Shahid Afridi is not a film about Shahid Afridi who is one of the popular sports personalities in Pakistan but it has tried to highlight how Pakistani cricketing talent emerged from the lower socio-economic classes. Directed by Humayun Saeed, Shaid Afridi has also appeared in the movie as special appearance. Overall, this movie is worth a watch.
