The politics in Bihar has taken a different turn. Nitish Kumar resigns yesterday as Bihar CM quoting, “It had become difficult for me to work… I had no option but to quit as Bihar CM. In taking this decision I have listened to my conscience.” The resignation came after corruption charges against Ally Lalu Prasad Yadav’s son Tejashwi Yadav over a CBI FIR by Sushil Modi. The Mahagadbandhan came to an end after the resignation.
Nitish Kumar expressed his opinion and said that he can no longer continue amid allegation in his government. Nitish after resigning secured the support of NDA to form the next government in Bihar. On this Tejashwi described Kumar’s resignation as a “pre-planned conspiracy” between Nitish and the BJP. Soon Prime Minister Narendra Modi hailed Nitish’s decision on Twitter and congratulated him for “joining the fight against corruption.”
The Janta Dal United leader Nitish Kumar takes oath of office chief minister this morning calling off the grand alliance (Mahagadhbandhan) between Janta Dal United (JDU), Congress and Rashtriya Janta Dal (RJD). Sushil Modi will be the deputy CM of Bihar. The game was pre-planned and things are not happening suddenly. Nitish was in support of BJP government since the demonetisation move and PM Modi also simultaneously praised him for the prohibition of liquor in the state. The love between both the political leaders was also seen when Nitish Kumar skips lunch hosted by Congress Chief Sonia Gandhi and went to the lunch hosted by Modi in the honour of Mauritius PM Pravind Jugnauth. Nitish Kumar’s party also supported Ram Nath Kovind in the Presidential election. Nitish Kumar is surely the master in playing politics in style.
After swearing in Bihar Chief Minister said, “My decision is in Bihar’s interest and for its development.” PM Modi also congratulated him for becoming the chief minister. “Congratulations to Nitish Kumar ji & Sushil Modi ji. Looking forward to working together for Bihar’s progress & prosperity,” he wrote on Twitter.
People usually say in Bihar, ‘You know how to play politics, since you are in the womb of your mother’ and Nitish Kumar is a sheer example of the same.
Let's see how things turn out for Bihar in future.
